Ms. Nusbaum asked if Facilities Maintenance could cover the expense. Mr. Compton will check. There were no objections from the Committee. Ms. Nusbaum will secure the appropriate approvals to proceed if institutional funding is needed. 2012-095 – School of Art and Design JCM 2118 – Department is requesting lighting and furniture for JCM 2118. Original cost estimate was between $28,000 and $30,200 but the school only has $15,000. The cost estimate was revisited and a revised estimate of $17,000 was provided. The School indicated they could fund the entire amount. There were no objections from the Committee. Ms. Nusbaum will secure the appropriate approvals to proceed. 2012-029 – River House Parking Lot Closure/Construction – The root system of one of the trees next to the River House has developed root decay. The recommendation from tree experts is to remove the tree. The existing parking lot will eventually be returned to grass and a new 55 space parking lot will be constructed next door to offset some of the loss of parking on Moon Street. Cost estimate is between $200,000 and $230,000. Institutional reserves will be used to fund the project. There were no objections from the Committee. Ms. Nusbaum provided the information to the committee since this has already been approved by the President. Notification of the removal of the tree will be made in the community before it is taken down. 2012-083 – New Agriculture Greenhouse Relocation – The greenhouse located on the roof of the Agriculture Building needs to be relocated because of water leaks into the building. It will be located adjacent to the Agriculture Building. President has approved this project and would like to move on this quickly. Cost estimate $637,500. Funding is available. There were no objections from the Committee. 2012-049 – Agriculture AB 107 Meat Lab – The meat lab is currently not in compliance with USDA standards and is a critical component to the department. Cost estimate $33,418. Funding has been identified. This item was brought to the committee as information only since the president has been involved and approved the project. Relocation of Continuing Education staff to ASB North, 3rd floor, Relocation of Rural Talent Search staff to Clevenger House, and Renovation Request for DARS for ASBN 141 and 120 Dr. Thorne has requested that Continuing Education and Rural Talent Search switch locations. Therefore, three staff members from Continuing Education will relocate to ASB North and Rural Talent Search will relocate to the Clevenger House. Additionally, DARS (Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services) will remain in ASB North in their current space on the third floor. DARS assists the Office of Disability Services. Dr. Sherri Benn feels this would benefit Rural Talent Search since most of their traffic is from off campus and parking is always an issue. There were no objections by the Committee. Ms. Nusbaum will wait on the renovations requests before seeking the approvals to proceed.
