1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Corn is sensitive to cold weather, which is why it should be planted in the middle of May. First dig a trench at about 5-6 inches deep. Sprinkle fertilizer at the bottom of the trench and then mix the fertilizer into the soil. Plant the corn seeds about six inches apart in the trench. When the corn begins to grow, fill back in some of the dirt into the trench and around the corn. (This will help the corn have a better and deeper root system.) You harvest corn in 3-4 months after you plant it. Remember when caring for corn to: • Keep soil slightly dry. • Water it up to 3 times a week. • To water near the canes. • No fluoride in the water. • Keep Ph in between 6.0 and 6.5. • Watch for pests. • Add nitrogen monthly. • Provide the plant support. • • • • • • • • • Scientific name is Zea Mays Var.
