Summer Assignments for IB Business Management students
2012-2013 school year: DUE September 7th, 2012.
There are 3 parts to this summer assignment.
1) Summer Reading Assignments:
>Read Topic 1 sections of your textbook including:
1.1-Nature and Organization of Business;
1.2-Objectives, Stakeholders, and the External Environment; and
1.3-Organizational Planning and Decision-Making;
1.4-Growth and the Impact of Globalization.
NOTE: It is only necessary to read the SL sections of each chapter. The
HL sections are noted with a small "HL" and a dotted line along the left-had
margin of each page.
2) Answer all Student Workpoints to the best of your ability for Topic 1 SL
reading on notebook paper. Turn this in on Friday, September 7, 2012. If
you do not understand the question, write that down. I want to help you
understand it. I will use this as a starting point for the class time.
3) For your Internal Assessment, you must locate a single business
organization with a real issue or problem. You will be writing your IA about
the problem or real issue that this business is having. Bring the name of
your potential small business, the location, and a potential problem to write
about. DUE September 7. You may make changes as you discover the full
assignment, however, I would like to see what types of businesses you are
considering.
