French 2 Syllabus
Welcome to French class. I hope that you will have fun learning French. In French 2
we will be focusing on advanced conversational vocabulary combined with the
necessary grammar needed to communicate effectively.
We will combine review from French I with new vocab and grammar mixed in.
You have received a textbook, which serves as a good resource to review what you
might have forgotten from French I - to look up words, and verb conjugation in the
back of the book, as well as explanations of grammar concepts and phrases. You
should use your textbook to do homework assignments as correctly as possible.
You do not need to bring the book to class unless you are told to do so in advance.
So keep it at home as your resource.
We will continue using the concept of TPRS (Teaching Proficiency Through Reading
Stories) to acquire as much knowledge as possible, without having to memorize long
lists of vocab.
You will have to bring your supplementary reader to class every day, as well as a
notebook. Auditory files of the supplementary reader will be on Haiku. Listening to
them with and without your book will improve your pronunciation and speaking
tremendously.
Daily attendance is very important, as we are not learning quietly by ourselves from
the textbook. You can only learn to speak a language, when you hear it. You will
hear and practice lots of French in class. Classwork and homework assignments are
small but very important practice.

attending tutorial within a week of the absence, signing in and letting me know that

late allowed as assignments take only 10 - 15 minutes)
