A WebQuest for World Geogrpahy
Mr. Holland
Introduction
The Travel Channel has decided that it wants to create a new series about the best
country to visit on each continent. Research teams have been formed to investigate
countries around the world. You have been assigned to the Africa unit. You and your
colleagues need to decide which country in Africa should be included in the series. You
now have to research and organize a presentation highlighting the culture and history
of an African country. Each group must do it’s best to present an accurate picture of
their country while explaining why people would want to travel to Africa.
The Task
Your task for is to design a travelogue for a modern country in Africa that your
producers will use to decide which country will be included in the series. It is your job
to explain an overview of your country to potential travelers. You will be researching
and presenting information on the government, economy, history, culture, arts, etc.
You will also want to inform people of what they need to know before they travel in a
foreign country, such as places of interest, and any travel precautions. You will
organize this information into a Power Point presentation and present it before the
group of producers.
The Process
You will be assigned a group to research a modern African country. Your task is to
research and present the benefits and dangers of traveling abroad.
1. First, you will be assigned a group and a country. The possible countries for this
project are:
Angola
Zambia
