How best to prepare
 “Start preparing NOW!
 Look over the course syllabus for one course and look at the units that
were easier or harder
 Identify the concepts you had more difficulty grasping (star and go back)
 Arrange time with peers and teachers to steadily go over those concepts
 Budget time every evening for review on these concepts
 Book time off of work for a few weeks
 Get lots of sleep and nourish yourself

 Do you need to be quiet and mentally prepare
yourself or do you want a bit of distraction
 Sleep well the night before
 Have a good breakfast so you’re not distracted
 Ensure your mode of transportation is in good
working order and on time

Calculator rules
 Math teacher will clarify
 There will be an inspection of calculators by the
exam invigilators
 Please ensure you don’t have any non-permissable
programs, formulae and the like

IB Assessment and Scoring
 Exams are scored and
moderated multiple times to
insure accuracy and
monitor work of examiners.
 All 4,000 examiners are
‘quality checked’ through a
process of moderation.
 Exams are remarked if
there are unexpected
deviations.

 Marks are accessible as of July 6, 2012
 You will receive a session number and pin code.

University transcripts
• You may have your results sent electronically to the
Admissions Office of up to two Canadian universities
free of charge.
• More? There is a $15USD charge beyond that
• Concerned about a bad mark reaching the office?
• Results MUST reach most offices by September 1
and your physical documentation doesn’t reach you
until early October
