elections.mytimetovote.com/dates/default.…
First poster can come from this information; way more than enough so we need to
simplify the content. We will have to get back to them on voter registration deadlines; a
few may have passed for elections in Sept; but we should be ok for Nov 3 rd, 2015.
2015 Upcoming Elections (intro from mytimetovote)
The 2015 U.S. general election will be held on Tuesday, the 3rd of November 2015.
This off-year election will only feature special elections to the United States Congress, if
any. There will also be municipal, school board, gubernatorial and state legislative
elections in a few states; as well as numerous citizen initiatives, and a variety of other
local offices on the ballot.
In 2015, gubernatorial elections will be held in three states, Kentucky, Louisiana and
Mississippi. The incumbent governor of Mississippi is eligible to run for reelection, and
the incumbent governors of Kentucky and Louisiana are term-limited and unable to seek
reelection. There are also three lieutenant gubernatorial seats on the ballot in 2015.
Kentucky, Louisiana and Mississippi will hold lieutenant gubernatorial elections.
I added this: some states have special local elections such as school boards in Sept
and Oct 2015; there’s even a congressional seat that will have election, Illinois 18 th
congressional seat to be held Sept 10, 2015 (need to research further)
2015 Upcoming Elections (intro from WiKi, U.S. Elections 2015)
The United States general elections of 2015 will be held (for the most part) on Tuesday, November 3.
This is an off-year election, as the President will not face election and only special elections to the
United States Congress will be held. There will also be gubernatorial and state legislative elections in a
few states; as well as numerous citizen initiatives, mayoral races, and a variety of other local offices on
the ballot.
Federal elections 2015, only one remaining, is Illinois’s 18th congressional district
mentioned above

Voter identification (ID) requirements
There are several situations when voters need to show identification before voting. Usually, ID is
required to prove the voter's identity and residency at the address of the registration. A total of
thirty-four states have passed voter ID laws. These are not all in force at this point, either
because the implementation date is in the future or because of court challenges.

of election.
General Elections:
General elections have the most offices and issues on the ballot and usually generate more
interest and higher turnout than any other elections. Most offices on the general election ballot are
partisan.
Primary and Caucus
Primary elections are one means by which a political party nominates candidates for the next
general election. The main difference between a caucus and a primary is that a caucus involves
face-to-face interaction between voters, where voters can try to persuade one another to vote for
(or against) a certain candidate.
Municipal Elections
In municipal elections, registered voters elect members of their local government, such as
mayors, council people, township supervisors and district judges.
School Elections
School elections are held to elect school board members and community college directors
Special Elections
A special election is held when someone who is already in office can no longer serve and must
be replaced. All registered voters in the district can vote in a special election.

Election Day Voter Registration
Most U.S. states require voters to register before an election. The deadline varies by state, with
most falling between eight and 30 days before the election. Eleven states plus the District of
Columbia presently offer same-day registration (SDR), allowing any qualified resident of the
state to go to the polls on election day, register that day, and then vote.
Three others --California, Hawaii and Vermont have enacted same-day registration but have not
yet implemented it.
Idaho
If you do not take advantage of election-day registration, the last day to register in time to vote in
the next election is twenty-five days before the election.
Iowa
You may register to vote on Election Day at the polling place for the precinct where you
currently live. If you register to vote on Election Day, you will be required to show proof of both
residency and identity.
Maine
You can register in person at the registrar's office at any time up to and including Election Day,
as long as you show proof of identity and residence.
Minnesota
If you are not registered to vote or need to update your registration information, you may do so at
your local polling location on Election Day as long as you can provide proof of residence.
Montana
You can register in person at the election administrator's office anytime before the election;
however, any voter who registers after noon on the day before or on Election Day must appear at
the county election office in order to vote.
New Hampshire
You may register to vote in the town or city clerk's office in the town or city where you are
domiciled up to 10 days before any election or scheduled meeting.Unregistered voters may
register and vote on election day
Wisconsin
Wisconsin allows you to register to vote at the polling place in your election district or an
alternate polling place on Election Day if you provide identification and proof of residence. You
can also register in person at the municipal clerk's office up until 5 p.m. on the day before the
election, provided you sign a registration form and present proof of residence.
Wyoming
To vote in Wyoming, you must be registered. Simply pick up a voter registration application, fill
it out. May register at the polls on Election Day by providing documents establishing your
identity and residency.
Washington DC
You may register at your precinct's polling place on Election Day and cast a special ballot that
same day. You may also register and vote a special ballot at any early voting center (the Board's
Office or satellite locations). You will need to complete a voter registration application, swear or
affirm that you are a qualified elector, and provide valid proof of residence.
California
California's same-day registration will take effect on January 1 of the year following the year in
which the Secretary of State certifies that the state has a statewide voter registration database that
complies with the requirements of the federal Help America Vote Act of 2002. (no sooner than
January 2013)
Connecticut
Connecticut's same-day registration took effect July 1, 2013. You may register and vote in
person on Election Day if you meet the eligibility requirements for voting in this state and you
are not already registered, OR you are registered in one town and want to change your
registration because you currently reside in another town.
Election Day Registration is not available at your polling place. Contact your local registrars of
voters office for information about your town†™s designated Election Day Registration
location and ID requirements. You will need to provide proof of identity and residency.
Hawaii
Hawaii's same-day registration won't be implemented until 2018.
Where To Register To Vote
State by state information about voting locations, local registrar office addresses and phone
number listing for general and local elections
You can vote ONLY at your designated polling place. Make sure your are at the correct polling
site and Election District for your address.
When you register to vote, your voter registrations are linked to your residential address. When
registered voters move, they are supposed to update their registration records with election
officials before voting.
Under federal law, if you move within 30 days of a presidential election, you are allowed to vote
for President and Vice President in your former state of residence, either in person or by absentee
ballot.
