Robert Garcia Robert is the Director of Global Business Development for the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and is responsible for establishing and growing business relationships with global clients including key business leaders and HR executives in multinational and large national companies, accredited universities, human resource associations, and training providers across global regions. He brings a wealth of experience in the fields of human resource management, training and development, sales and marketing, leadership consulting, health care administration, operations, and diversity. He has worked with executive teams in industries that include: international banking, financial services, automotive, pharmaceutical, hospitality, medical, and transportation/logistics. He is tenacious at securing customer loyalty and forging strong relationships with business partners throughout the United States, Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East. Before joining SHRM, he was Corporate Director of Human Resources for Baptist Health South Florida (BHSF), a not-for-profit health care organization with over 15,000 employees and an outstanding reputation for medical and service excellence. He was responsible for the overall delivery and integration of human resources services throughout the system. Prior to BHSF, he was Director of Florida International University (FIU) Office of Executive & Professional Education, responsible for the development, promotion, and delivery of educational programs to individuals, corporations and government agencies throughout Florida Latin America, and the Middle East. Robert was previously, Senior Vice President, Global Accounts and Managing Director at Lee Hecht Harrison, a global leader in human capital solutions, where he was responsible for the strategic management process to achieve market growth and provide human capital solutions to global companies throughout the world. Robert was also with ADP TotalSource, where he established a corporate university and provided human resource solutions to executive teams. In addition, he was a health care executive at United Healthcare, where he created management development programs and managed multispecialty medical centers. He has also conducted research and published articles in the fields of Pediatrics & Psychology. He is an adjunct faculty member at Florida International University and has been a professor at Nova Southeastern University, Barry University and the University of Miami. Robert has been a SHRM member and volunteer leader for over 12 years, just recently serving as President of the Greater Miami Society for Human Resource Management. He is a board member of the Latin Quarter Development Council and Founder of the Latin American HR Forum. He is also a member of American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration, American Society for Training and Development, Americas Society/Council of the Americas, Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and the Organizational Development.
