Rule # 1
 Always raise your hand to speak or get out of your seat

SMART Board Rules
 Only touch the Smart Board when asked by an
adult.
 Only write on the Smart Board with the special
Smart Board pens.
 This is a tool for our learning and we want to keep it
looking nice.
Restroom Rules
 Sit silently until you are called to line up.
 When you are called to line up, stand up silently and
place your chair under your desk quietly.
 Walk silently to the line and face forward with your
hands and feet still.

 Wait patiently and silently while others are lining
up.
 5 boys and 5 girls may enter the restroom at a time,
unless another class is there.

 Walk quietly into the restroom.
 Be sure not to slam the stall door.
 Use the restroom quickly. The toilet will flush on its
own. If it does not, push the small black button gently.
 Wash and dry your hands.
 Exit the restroom and line up quietly, facing forward
with your hands and feet still.
Lining up rules
 Sit quietly until you are called to line up.
 When you are called to line up, stand up quietly
and place your chair under your desk silently.
 Walk quietly to the line and face forward with your
hands and feet still.

 Wait patiently and silently while others are lining up.
 Stay in a straight line.
 Look ahead at all times.
 Keep your hands and feet to yourself.
 Hallway voice level is ALWAYS 0.
Special Class Rules Cont.
 Stay in a straight quiet line outside the special class
door until asked to enter.
 You are to listen and follow the directions of the
special class teacher to earn a compliment every day.
 You will line up and return to our classroom in the
same manner.
 Rewards will be given when COMPLIMENT is
spelled.
Bus Rules




Keep head and hands inside the window.
Remain in your seat while the bus is in motion.
Talk quietly only to the person sitting beside you.
Show respect to the bus driver and other students.

 Talk politely to others.
 Do not bring unacceptable items on the bus.
 No eating or drinking on the bus.
 Sit in your assigned seat.
 Do not throw items on the bus.
Cafeteria Rules
 Sit quietly until you are called to line up.

 Walk quietly to the line and face forward with your
hands and feet still.

 Get all food while in the serving line. You will not be

permitted to get anything after you sit down.
You are to listen and follow the directions of the cafeteria
staff.
You may talk in a soft voice to the people beside you or in
front of you only.
Keep your food on your tray and pick up any trash left on
the table.
LEAVE YOUR AREA CLEAN!
You will line up and return to our classroom in the same
manner as you came to the cafeteria.
Playground Rules
 Remember lining up and hallway rules to exit and enter the
building.
 We have playground equipment.
 Students must obey directions given by all teachers while
on the playground.
 Stay within playground boundaries and away from off-limit
areas.

 Student must stay in straight line.
 You must stop at the following stopping points.
 1-Double Doors to the Foyer
 2-Double Doors Exiting the Building
 3-Before Crossing the street at the Crosswalk
 4-Before entering the playground at the chain link fence
 When I give the signal, you may walk to the mulch and
then enter the playground.
 Students who purchase ice cream must walk until they
have finished and throw wrappers in trash cans.

 You are not allowed to step onto the playground until
your teacher says
 Remember, these rules are for your safety
 Slide DOWN the slides on your bottom; do not climb
up.

 Swings must be shared. Approximately 5 minutes per
turn. NO jumping out of swings.
 No climbing over, sitting, or standing on rock wall. (3
at a time)
 No throwing or picking up woodchips, rocks, or sticks.

 Respect other people’s space. Keep your hands and feet
to yourself. No play fighting or wrestling.
 Do not climb on top of any playground equipment.
 Be courteous and a good sport.
 Speak respectfully to each other.

Remember to be polite and take turns.
Take care of our playground and keep it nice.
Do not throw down any trash.
Line up immediately and stand quietly when whistle is
blown.
What happens when rules are broken?
 Your behavior is your choice.
 You are responsible for your own behavior in this
classroom.
 Each time you break a rule, you have chosen a
consequence.
What happens when rules are broken?
 When rules are broken, you will receive a
consequence.
 I will carry a clip board with your name on it. Each
time you break a rule, I will mark your name.
 Each mark indicates a new consequence.
What are my penalties?
 No Marks – Indicates that you have broken no rules and
that you are having a great day!
 Warning - Indicates that you have broken a rule, but you
have another chance make better choices.
 5 Minutes – You must walk five minutes during recess.
 10 Minutes – You must walk ten minutes during recess.
You will also be sent to the time out chair.
 15 Minutes – You must walk for fifteen minutes and you
will spend time in the time out chair. You must also fill
out a time out sheet, which will be sent home and must be
signed and returned the next day.
 20 Minutes – You must walk for your entire recess and you
will fill out another time out sheet, which must be signed
and returned the next day. Your parent(s) will be called.
If you are on twenty minutes for three days, a parent
teacher conference will be scheduled and a behavior
modification plan will be developed.
Time Out
 If you have a ten minute mark beside your name, you will
have to go to time out and complete a time out form.
 A copy of the form will be sent home to your parent.
 Continuous problems will be dealt with severely! I do not
tolerate loss of instructional time due to behavior
problems.
Discipline Referral Form
 Each teacher has a discipline referral form.
 When a rule is broken, a discipline referral form will be
filled out.
 One copy will be sent to the office, one will go home to be
signed and returned, and one will be kept on file in your
folder.
 There are three levels of behaviors: Minor, moderate, and
major.
Minor/Moderate Level 1 & 2






Inappropriate language gestures
Inappropriate physical contact/not keeping hands, feet, objects to self
Defiance: failure to follow reasonable requests w/eventual compliance
Disruption (talking, refusal to remain in seat, rude noises)
Property misuse (school, staff, peer)
Technology misuse (accessing inappropriate website, destruction of
equipment)
Minor/Moderate Level 1 & 2
 Dishonesty/Cheating
 Disrespect: responding in an inappropriate manner
 Off task: failure to complete task/assignment
 Horseplay (unsafe play/contact)
 Inappropriate clothing
 Mild threat/intimidation
Major/Level 3















Fighting/physical aggression
Abusive/inappropriate language/gestures

 Students who are written up with for a level 3 offense
go to the office immediately.
 Students receiving level 1 or 2 offences will be dealt
with in the classroom.
 Three or more level 1 or 2 offences constitute a level 3

Positive Paws
 Positive Paws will be turned in to the office for rewards
and you will go to the Top Tiger Cafe if your name is
