New products for video wall control and signal transmission
eyevis presents latest generation netPIX Controllers and new eyeGATE
solution for high-quality video-streaming with H.264 standard
With the last update of the well-known netPIX graphics controller series, eyevis presents a
new state-of-the-art control solution for video walls. The third generation of the netPIX 4800
series provides a newly developed output graphics board and a new GPU. This once again
enhances the output processing performance of the controller. In addition, the German
manufacturer expands its range of streaming solutions for the transmission of DVI/HDMI
signals over IP networks with the new eyeGATE solution.
netPIX: The professional solution for video wall control
The new output graphics board for the netPIX 4800-G3.0 provides enhanced performance
for the GPU and an improved transmission capacity. Thanks to the new GPU and an
optimised connection of the switch-fabric each output board is able to represent input signals
with a transfer rate of up to 1 GB/s. The netPIX 4800-G3.0 offers digital outputs for signals
up to 1920 x 1200 pixels and full HD format. Video wall configurations with up to 64 output
channels are possible for a controller system. It is even possible to set multiple different
output resolutions for rectangular and non-rectangular display configurations with the same
controller at the same time. In combination with the eyeCON wall management software live
previews of every signal source within the system are available. The netPIX controller further
provides the possibility to adapt the image signals to various display modes: there is an
underlap-mode for narrow bezel display screens, an overlap-mode edge blending for multichannel projections, and a pivot mode for landscape or portrait display.
The technological evolution of the new netPIX generation is available for all models of the
network-based graphics controller series. With the NPX4800-G3.0, the NPX4800L-G3.0, the
NPX4800LC-G3.0 and the NPX4800PLUS-G3.0 there are four different versions of the
controllers available. Depending on the complexity of the system each customer can chose
the ideal solutions from the range whether he needs an entry-level solution or a professional
controller for large control room. All controllers create a combined desktop surface on the
multiple display devices in a video wall. This desktop can be used for the display of all kinds
of network data, video or graphic sources. All input signals can be placed, scaled and moved
freely on the video wall. Thanks to the multi-screen-ability there is no limitation for the
configuration of the video wall.
eyeGATE: High-quality encoding with H.264 standard
With the new eyeGATE solution eyevis further enhances its range of streaming solutions.
The new device offers a competitively priced and reliable solution for the transmission of DVI
and HDMI signals over standard networks using H.264 compression. Especially for
installations with limited a network bandwidth as with transmissions over satellite connections

or over the internet, the eyeGATE becomes a reasonable alternative to eyevis high-end
streaming solution, eStreamer eS100
The eyeGATE encodes DVI and HDMI signals with a resolution of up to 1920x1200 pixels
and 60Hz with a high quality H.264 compression and an advanced & high profile. With the
integrated chroma subsampling filter, the eyeGATE achieves a transmission quality
corresponding to a 4:2:2 chroma subsampling. The device also supports multicast and
unicast transmissions. Any decoding-capable device inside the network can receive the
stream. This can be a netPIX graphics controller, a display with embedded IP decoder or any
PC-workstation with installed eyeCON client software. The robust hardware of the eyeGATE
solution provides a real-time encoding of DVI and HDMI signals and is designed for reliable
24/7 operation. The detection of the signal runs automatically. With the eyeGATE it is also
possible to transmit an audio signal.
With the eyeGATE eyevis includes an alternative to its high-quality eStreamer solution for
installations with limited bandwidth to its range of streaming solutions. While the eStreamer
eS100 needs a bandwidth of 100–350 MB/s for an almost lossless compression with JPEG
standard in broadcast quality, a bandwidth of 1–12 MB/s is sufficient for a transmission with
the new eyeGATE. The eyeGATE was especially developed for input signals for the
MetaWalls feature of the eyeCON software, netPIX 4800 controller systems with IP decoder
boards, and displays with embedded decoder solutions. eyevis provides the eyeGATE in
various versions for different kinds of installations: as stand-alone version, as component of a
netPIX controller, or as rack-mount version in a pack of ten with redundant power supplies.
