FUSE Team Charter “Focus Unity Success Excellence” Ify Obigbo Qing Cai Daniel Dickinson Chase Peevey Vision We of Team FUSE, strive for excellence in leadership as individuals and as a team. Mission/Purpose We will apply the knowledge and skills obtained in the “classroom” to our work as a team throughout this semester. Team FUSE will encourage all members to participate and strengthen their team skills week-toweek in meetings and by working on group projects. We will rotate roles throughout the semester to allow each team member to practice different skill sets. We will be better leaders tomorrow, because of our work today. Goal 1 At a minimum each team member will fulfill each role established at our first meeting on at least one meeting, e.g. Coordinator, Scribe, Timekeeper and Facilitator and will fulfill their role before, during and after the meeting according to our Roles and Ground Rules. Tasks: A) Rotate the tasks of Coordinator, Scribe, Timekeeper and Facilitator during each weekly Skype call and monthly F2F meeting. Additional roles will be rotated as we deem necessary, i.e. Devil’s Advocate. B) Each team member will take the lead on different tasks and will coordinate and delegate tasks to the other members and will be responsible for compiling needed information and components from team members and submit the final project to BlackBoard in a timely fashion. Measurements: A) Team will show that each member rotated the tasks through our meeting minutes. B) Each member will have taken the lead on at least one of the larger projects due this semester, or have contributed a significant amount of work towards the completion of the project, i.e. Team Charter, Website, Radio Infomercial, etc. Goal 2 By the end of this course, we will become better managers by learning effective ways of team management and conflict resolution. Tasks: A) Since we will rotate weekly meeting roles and roles on projects, we will be able to practice management and coordination of meetings and projects and practice the skills necessary to become effective managers. B) We will actively coordinate tasks with our team members in order to ensure excellent project completion. C) The team will provide positive criticism to other team members and help mold each other into successful managers. Measurements: A) Our grades on Team exercises and individual assignments will show if we are progressing and learning to be better at team and individual assignments. B) Our survey data will show if we have gotten better at managing our conflicts and better at team effectiveness in decision-making and task completion. C) Our individual Peer Assessments from our peers will show if our teammates feel that we are contributing to the team equitably. Goal 3 Building an integrated team by helping each other to become better team-members, by providing in-time feedback and improving relationships with each other professionally. Tasks: A) Meeting frequently to increase opportunities to interact and become a better team. B) We will meet once a week via Skype and once a month face-to-face to discuss team projects and other deliverables coming up. Measurements: A) We will use data from weekly surveys to determine the team’s perception of our ability to deal with conflict and whether we provide constructive feedback to each other. B) Our overall team survey scores should show an improving trend throughout the semester to indicate we think the team members work well together as a team. Goal 4 As a team, we will meet all deadlines required for each project. In accordance with meeting the appropriate deadlines, we will strive to receive a grade of 90% on at least half knowledge checks and 100% on the remaining knowledge checks. All other deliverables should be within an acceptable range through 85-100%. Tasks: A) Complete all individual assignments on or before the class deadline. B) Work as a team to complete all group projects well before the class deadline with a goal of 100% accuracy and promptness. C) Review all work and projects before submission to check that each member is satisfied with final product. Measurements: A) Our scores will reflect whether we have achieved our goal. We should have all scores in the 85-100% range with most being in the 95-100%.
