Country Presentations BA 447
This assignment is completed in three person groups. The objective of this assignment is twofold. First is the
group members’ learning regarding planning, researching and presenting information. Second is to provide the
class with information and a set of written documents about the various countries addressed. Emphasis in the
assignment should be on cultural issues and implications for business and organizational effectiveness.
Guidelines:
 Describe cultural dimensions found in the country. You will probably find the models presented in the text
useful in this regard. Place the country’s culture(s) in context with other countries, particularly the U.S.
 Note major defining historical events. Consider how the history impacts today’s culture and behavior of its
people.
 Provide geographic information showing the country’s location in the world and its neighbors.
 Describe major economic issues the country is facing. Draw implications for the future.
 Note current events impacting the country and its culture. Consider implications of the political situation,
stability in the country, and human rights issues on the conduct of business in the country.
 Develop two examination questions from the presentation. One question is in a discussion question format
and the other in a multiple choice format.
 Lead the class in a discussion using the discussion question as a guide.
Evaluation draws equally from the following:
 Information is current, accurate, with sources noted and acknowledged.
 Verbal presentation engages the audience, reflects good preparation and participation by all group
members.
 Written document (limited to one sheet, 2-sided OK) that presents the information in a concise, user-friendly
manner.
 Presentation limited to 20 minutes in length.
