Supporting Information for Actions this Reporting Period:
Information to support the accomplishments of the 2014-2015 Program Year are provided in previous
Board Briefs. The following information is provided to summarize our progress this program year:
This was the inaugural program year for the Professional Education Committee. Much of our time was
dedicated to understanding our charter, responsibilities, role in the association, relationship with staff,
members, and other committees, and long term objectives. To that end, we reviewed and updated the
charter, coordinated with NCMA staff to understand/de-conflict roles/responsibilities, facilitated focus
groups with membership to understand their level of satisfaction with NCMA programs, reviewed
corporate training and education policies to better understand how to sell our programs to a segment of
our market, supported contract management program development with a new university, strengthened
our relationship with DAU, and supported the CMBOK working group. We also identified areas of
opportunity for the committee next year. These include further refining the committee’s role regarding
university relations and establishing a partnership with the staff to coordinate surveys, pole members,
establish topics for conferences, etc. Finally, the Committee Chair supported the CMLDP Program
Manager in making Distinguished Graduate and Honor Graduate designations for the graduation class as
well as management decisions regarding student performance. One other student will be deferred to the
following program year as a result of unexpected personal commitments.
