Continental Automotive Corporation announces
Board of Directors Change
Yokohama, Japan, April 22, 2008. At the general shareholders meeting on March 31, the
shareholders of Continental Automotive Corporation (CAC) deliberated on the decision of the
appointment of new members to the Board of Directors. The composition of the Board of
Directors was discussed in the board meeting following the shareholders meeting. Accordingly,
as of April 1st, 2008, Dr. Ralf Cramer, President of Division Chassis & Safety of Continental AG,
who previously discharged the responsibility as Director took over the duties of Chairman of
the Board. Dietmar Siemssen, who assumed the position as the head of Division Chassis &
Safety Region Asia and CEO of CAC as of February 1st, was appointed as the Representative
Director of the Board.

With the recent acquisition of Siemens VDO by Continental AG, three new divisions were
established. The Division Chassis & Safety combines comprehensive know-how and top
quality in the areas of active and passive driving safety and chassis sensors as well as chassis
components. “CAC is the strategic stronghold of Division Chassis & Safety in Japan. We have
been very successful with Japanese and Korean car manufactures in the past and want to
continue on our growth path.” says Dr. Ralf Cramer, President of Division Chassis & Safety.

CAC was established in 2000, as joint venture between Continental and Nisshinbo Industries,
Inc. and employs a workforce of 2,000 with 8 manufacturing facilities, R&D centers, test tracks
and offices in Japan, Korea and China.
The opening of Continental Engineering Center last year enables Continental to further enhance
customer focus. “Quality is one of the most important criteria to be successful in Japan. We
need to ensure that we incorporate the quality and performance needs of our Japanese
customers by reflecting these standards into the early stages of product development.” says
Dietmar Siemssen, CEO of CAC who previously headed the position as Senior Vice President
Quality and Environmental within Continental Automotive Systems.
