EXCLUSIVE
Nationally renowned eco-friendly and healthy home interior designer Robin Wilson
focuses on the four principles of eco-friendly design: sustainable, reusable, recyclable
and non-toxic.
A visionary and pioneer, Robin has set the benchmarks for eco-conscious design and
has become a leading advocate for clean construction methods. As a life-long asthma
and allergy sufferer, she believes that there is a tie to indoor air quality and asthma/allergies. As an ambassador
for the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, she focuses on healthy space interior design to increase
awareness of health issues due to poor indoor air quality. She is a blogger on the Huffington Post, writing on
eco-health issues.
Robin founded her firm in 2000 and rebranded it to Robin Wilson Home in 2006. The Manhattan-based
designer became an advocate for clean construction methods and chose to focus on interior design,
residential/commercial renovations, and project management. Industry insiders describe her style as "classic
with a modern touch," noting her passion for indigenous cultures found in the use of textured patterns and
organic fibers. Notable projects include the Good Housekeeping "Greenest House in New York" LEED
certified Showhouse (2008); the Esquire "Ultimate Bachelor Apartment" (2007); the Peninsula Hotel Spa
Salon (2007) and a renovation of President Bill Clinton's Harlem office (2004).
She was selected in Oct. 2008 by environmentalist Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Mary Richardson Kennedy to
design their private residence called "Our Green House". This Gold LEED certified home is an educational
tool for builders, architects, landscapers, designers and homeowners across the country on the opportunities
and benefits of eco-friendly living. Her Kennedy Green House book is a 2010 IPPY Award winner.
An award-winning designer, Wilson has won the AMEX/OPEN "Make Mine a Million $ Business" Award
(2008), the Black Enterprise Small Business "Innovator of the Year" award (2008), and was featured in the
New York Post annual list of the "50 Most Powerful Women in New York" (2007). Wilson has also been
featured in O at Home, The Wall Street Journal, New York Daily News, Forbes "find of the day", Interior
Design, HOME and Black Enterprise. Broadcast appearances include: HGTV, PBS, CNN, CBS, ABC and
NBC.
In the Fall of 2011, Ms. Wilson appeared on HGTV’s #1 rated television show, “Selling New York” and was
featured in the ORIGINS campaign for Eco-Chic holiday décor. Robin is the first woman to license her brand
to a line of eco-friendly kitchen cabinetry, sold at over 500 independent Holiday Kitchens dealers nationwide.
Beginning in 2012, retailers began carrying the Robin Wilson Home line of licensed bedding and bath products
and hypoallergenic pillows. Her branded line of linens is now available at Bed Bath & Beyond stores and her
furniture line, Nest Home by Robin Wilson, premiered at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair
(ICFF) in May 2013.
Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Robin is a fourth generation member of a Texas real estate family. Robin has
served on the boards of numerous philanthropic organizations including the Boston Symphony Orchestra and
YWCA. She holds an MS (Real Estate Finance) from New York University and a BA from the University of
