The Department of Informatics has a permanent position for a Senior Lecturer at the
Soshanguve South Campus.
Minimum requirements:
1. PhD or DTech in IT, specializing in Business Applications or Information
systems. A relevant IT undergtraduate qualification (diploma/ degree) in
Computer science or Information Systems is a prerequisite
2. At least 5 years lecturing experience at a higher institution of learning OR 2 years
lecturing at higher institution of learning and 3 years relevant industrial
experience
3. Experience in supervising postgraduate students with their research projects
4. Proven research and publications record in peer-reviewed journals (preferably
accredited) and papers delivered at Information Systems – related conferences
5. Evidence of and a demonstrated commitment to the delivery of high quality
student centered learning and teaching across a number of subject areas in
Computer Science and Information Systems
6. Competence in academic administration and demonstrated high level
communication and interpersonal skills including ability to build strong
partnerships, networks and relationships to achieve professional and team work
objectives
Core Functions








Undergraduate and postgraduate lecturing and assessment
Postgraduate research supervision and participate in community engagement
projects
Scientific research and publications in peer-reviewed journals
Creation of examination papers and other related assessment opportunities
Course development and maintenance of subject(s) study guides, course work
and other related materials (including the blackboard systems – MyTUTor)
Assist in the development and maintenance of the curriculum
Be available for students during consultation time and at appointments
Identify and attending additional training opportunities
