Friends of Pear Tree Mead Meeting 29th April

Roller Disco – Wednesday 6th May
Todate 79 tickets have sold, approx 10 forms returned without payment. The decision to proceed
was made as the admin involved in cancelling it was too much for WW and KT to take on at this
time. This is going to be a great community event and will be enjoyed by those who do attend.
WW has put a list in the staff room for volunteers to put their name down for sessions. WW will
chase. No staff extention.
Entry will be through the library door. Library will need to be cancelled for this night. AP to speak to
RA. Group 1 will use Hazel class to change and group 2 will use Oasis room etc if this doesn’t run
smoothly we can change on the night.
Janet Gotobed and Heather Leaf have kindly agreed to run crèche/film club. This will run in Nursery
to make it more comfortable for the little ones.
It was agreed that refreshments will be sold from the kitchen. KT will speak to Natalie Cleverdon to
buy chocolate bars (200). KT will buy juice cups in cartons (200) to save spillage. KT will speak to NR
re sweet bags.
KT has requested risk assessment.
Adult tickets will be sold prior to the event and on the door if there are spaces.
Community Tree Planting – Thursday 21st May
WW and Kim McCombie to liase re CTPD. Alistair is coming in. Speak to CP to see where the trees
can go. CP to ask Clive if grounds can be cleared to reveal grass area if req? WW to ask Angie
Winson as she began this request. WW to speak with CP to see how this is going to be run.
5/6 Parent Afternoon – Friday 22nd May
WW has had a request that Laura Tyler may require help at the Grandparent afternoon?? MH/Lisa
Winson could be available to help.
Music Bingo
KT has been to an event and said it was very good and raised both money and community spirit. KT
is speaking to Linsdey Timpson to see if she could approach Holy Cross to see if they would loan/rent
to us. A Friday in June was discussed?? CP to see if there is a date in the school diary.
Wild and Wacky Charity Day
CP has emailed a flyer to WW. It was agreed at this moment not to pursue due to recent publicity
and the amount of events we are organising.
AGM
CP to set an AGM date end of May in school diary, Tuesday preferably. This MUST be attended by
FOPTM parents to ensure it is a legitimate vote. The AGM is where all committee members leave
their posts and new members can be re-elected. If you wish to stand for a position please let the
Headteacher or current member know. FOPTM need new parent/carers to continue to offer the
exciting extra-curricular events!!!
Halloween donation
Thank you to Carla Wollard for the donation of Halloween items. These will be sorted for the
Halloween disco.
Summer Fete – 8th July
Preperation needs to begin for the Summer Fete. Please let WW know if you wish to lead this.
