Minority Supplier Institute (MSI)
Job Title:
Director of Strategic and Corporate Partnerships
Job Description:
Reporting to the Executive Director of the Strategic Action Council, the MSI Director of Strategic and Corporate
Partnerships will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the activities that support the
advancement of diversity supplier initiatives of MSI Corporate Members, Strategic Partners, and Regional
Agencies. This will include marketing, relationship cultivation, grant writing and reporting, advocacy, training
program implementation, technical assistance and support, and others activities that enhance and advance the
relationships of Minority Businesses Enterprises (MBE’s) and Corporate Agencies in Northwest Louisiana.
Major Duties:
 Build awareness of the importance of MBE development among major employers, regional agencies, and
within the community at-large. This may include assisting employers with developing or enhancing
their supplier diversity programs.
 Support the administration of the MSI Rapid Response Fund for business assistance of MSI members.
 Coordinate networking activities for MSI Corporate Members and agencies to interact with MSI
members and pursue contract opportunities for MSI members from those corporations and agencies.
 Submit grant applications and prepare reports to foundations, contributors, quasi-governmental
agencies, and key stakeholders.
 Serve as a liaison to area partners who have similar goals of strengthening minority business enterprises
(MBE’s) such as the chambers of commerce, Committee of One Hundred, business development
centers, small business incubators, United Way of Northwest La. and other similar organizations and
agencies.
 Manage the relationships of the MSI with the existing Corporate Members as well as serve as the
recruiter for new Corporate Members.
 Assist with the maintenance of the MSI website and other social media sites. Other staff and select
professional consultants may assist as necessary.
 Coordinate a tracking system of MBE utilization by MSI Corporate Members and Strategic Partners.
 Assist with the development and implementation of the MBE certification program to be administered
by the Minority Supplier Institute. Other MSI officials, staff, and professionals will be involved in the
certification process.
Qualifications:
 BA/BS degree in Accounting, Management, Marketing, or a related business field.
 Experience in nonprofit management and fundraising, small business training and development,
database management, and strategic planning.
 Must be detailed oriented with strong communication and project management skills.
 Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
 Must be a motivated self-starter with high energy and strong follow-up and marketing skills.
Compensation:
Salaried position: Range $45,000 - $50,000; Excellent benefits.
