Provide an environment that allows for positive communication between the teacher, parent, and student.
Hold Meet-The-Teacher-Night for parents to meet with the teachers and staff.
As much as possible the first responder should discipline the student.
Provide a safe, orderly, and clean school environment.
Provide appropriate and meaningful class work or homework assignments for students.
Provide assistance to parents so they can help with assignments.
Encourage students and parents by providing information about student progress.
Provide before school and/or after school tutoring as needed.
Seek parent cooperation to work as partners in learning.
Schedule parent/teacher conferences.

Make sure my child is on time and prepared for school every day for school.

Schedule a conference with the teacher about concerns with schoolwork and behavior.

Help my child to accept consequences for negative behavior.
Limit TV viewing and read together daily with my child.
Check with my child daily for information sent home from school that will be useful.
