Approval of Minutes from August 27, 2013- Approved.
Guest Speaker- Casey Slater, Dance Marathon “Raiderthon”
o What is Raiderthon? College movement where students fundraise for Dayton Children’s Hospital.
o 15 hour Dance Marathon (10 AM to 1 AM) taking place November 16th- a Saturday. Students
are challenged to stand on their feet for 15 hours. President Hopkins is backing this as a studentwide philanthropy.
o 15 hours for 15 miracle kids- each hour is dedicated to a different miracle family. Ally is one of
our miracle kids; many Greek organizations fundraise for “Ally’s Army.” Ethan’s dad works for
Wright State, so we have a family tie to our school!
o Will meet and see all of the miracle children at Dance Marathon!
o UD is trying to raise $50,000; we are aiming for a dollar higher!

Public Forum
o Student Trustee, Ryan Rushing: Presidency is pushing President Hopkins’ twitter. Follow him!
(@PresidentDHop). I will be meeting with the Sinclair Board of Trustees next week, where we will
be working on the transition from Sinclair Community College to Wright State, and we will also
be working on collaboration with Lake Campus.
 Ribbon Cutting Wed at 2 pm for Raider Connect
 Wed 3 pm is the University Convocation- Faculty Awards of Excellence will be
awarded. You’re all welcome to come!

New Business
o Resolution 13-22: A Resolution to Determine When the Senate can Vote on A Resolution,
Presented by Kyle Powell
 If there is a resolution on the table, it must be presented inside a public meeting. The
exception is that if the President should call the meeting 72 hours in advance.
 Andrea Sackett moves the previous question. Megan Gray seconds the motion.

 Resolution 13-22 has passed.
o Resolution 13-23: A Resolution to Modify the Number of Signatures to Run for a Student
Government Position, Presented by Kyle Powell
 President/VP reduced down to 50 signatures; Senate to 25 signatures.
 Rachel Fagan moves to table resolution until next week. Sukhmanjit Singh seconds the
motion.
 Resolution 13-23 has been tabled until 9/10/2013.
o Resolution 13-24: A Resolution to Place the Speaker of the House onto the Executive Board (EBoard), Presented by Kyle Powell

o Resolution 13-29: Resolution to Lower Tuition for Armed Forces Members who are using the
Armed Forces Tuition Assistance Program, Presented by Anthony Hinojosa
 Anthony Hinojosa tables Resolution 13-29 until September 17, 2013.
