Call to Order: 7:00 p.m.

Approval of Minutes from September 3, 2013
Executive Reports
o President- Sukhmanjit Singh
 The last two weeks, I have been helping everyone transition into Student Government. As an E-Board,
we are working on initiatives that will extend our outreach in committees and to the student
university.
o Vice-President- Rachel Fagan
 I had one-on-one meetings with each senator and they have great plans for this year! Sitting on VP for
Human Resources and the VP for Enrollment committees. They are close to selecting applicants to
visit for on-campus interviews.
o Chief of Staff- JB Saul
 Constitution Day is September 17th! I am currently working with cabinet to update bylaws. I am also
working with the Faculty Senate committees. I attended the New Welcome Center commencement
and have helped with the transition.
o Chief Justice- Karli Lightner:
 All applications for UC Senator and Graduate Senator are due Wednesday by noon. Campaigning
begins Friday at midnight. I will be sending CATS the profiles- Voting will begin Tuesday and go until
Thursday. The senators will be announced Friday. There are 4 candidates for UC Senator and 7 for
Graduate Senator. 9 candidates for Associate Justice- please contact me regarding your availability for
interviews- Wed 11-3 pm and Thursday 11-2 pm. The associate will be up for a vote from the Senate
during the September 17th meeting.
o Director of Internal Affairs- Jennifer Barbadora:
 Timesheets are due this Friday at noon! Reports are due at 5 pm Friday. Please check your email
regarding the new format for reports (bulleted format). Check out the new budget if you haven’t
gotten a chance, also. Please note that Senate and Cabinet both have $500 each that can be used for
events, meet and greets, etc. Talk to JB or Rachel regarding these funds!
Cabinet Reports
o Assistant Speaker of the House- Kaliah Ware
 We had our first HOR Meeting on Wednesday. We ran a quarter ad in the Guardian on SFC Meetings. I
am working on making a new binder and a new spreadsheet for SFC funding. Many have concerns
about reserving areas in The Woods this year.
o Director of Academic Affairs- Kyle Powell
 Sukhman and I talked at the Dayton Mall about Wright State and the academics we have! It was a
great opportunity to share our school pride. I sent out information about the scholarship fund to
various faculty/staff/College Deans. I am working on last resolution that was tabled. I opened up two
associate positions for Academic Affairs- 12 applicants have applied thus far. I am also launching the
Marketing Strategy for Raiderthon after funds have been acquired.
o Director of Campus Culture- Emily Bingham
 I am meeting with a few people in administration regarding a UVC panel for the REACH Center as well
as BERT. I have sat on the Carnegie Classification Committee. Amaha and I made contact with Mary
Tyler. I have attended a few student organizations. Some transgender issues were raised- the
Bathrooms in Hamilton Hall are a source of concern I will be looking into.
o Director of International Affairs- Fady Al-Banna
 I have met with the administrative body in UCIE. A major issue is that international students have a
very difficult time finding a job on campus- some offices are unfamiliar with the process of hiring an
international student employee. I am working on a project regarding translating campus leases to
different languages. Another project in the works is to look into whether an international student would
be able to use a dictionary during an exam, or have a certain amount of additional time. I am working on

the International Students Thanksgiving dinner as well as the discussion panel to take place during
International Student Week.
 Associate of International Affairs- Jennifer Benson
 Researching into other university’s “dictionary policy” for International Students
o Director of Public Relations- Megan Ater
 Advertising for Raiderthon, Constitution Day, COLA DSAB, SG website. Thanks for the bios!
 Associate of Student Affairs- Jackie Kucirka
 Meeting this Thursday with Erika regarding events for this year.
 Associate of Veterans’ Affairs- Anthony Hinojosa
 Attended FBI Biosecurity Workshop and Conference- learned a lot of information for security
assets. Thursday 131 10AM Allyn Veteran’s Workshop- “transferring military job to civilian
job.” University Petitions Committee is Friday. Rehabilitation counseling will be starting for 2
days/week. On the 24th, I will be meeting with office of Institutional Research- faculty and staff
will be able to ask us questions regarding the transfer to civilian life and the culture shock
associated with this.
 Associate of Athletics- Jordan Young
 Sports Club Council met last week: Physicals taking place tomorrow (accepting Walk-ins).
Hazing Prevention on September 19th at 7 pm. CPR Certification- September to end of
November. SCC will meet October 16th next. The volleyball tournament is this Friday for first
year students. Raiderthon- meeting with Dan Miska to get a team together.
Senate Reports
o Boonshoft School of Medicine Senator- Casey Babbitt
 I am working on a contact information list for all of our groups at Boonshoft. I am talking to students
about their interest. There is an interest in a card-swipe access to the Nutter Center, the back of White
Hall, and an increase in the library hours.
o College of Education and Human Services Senator- Michelle Coale
 I have been working with our administrators and new advisors. We have 14 people for our Student
Advisory Council. Our first meeting will be next Tuesday. We are working on a bulletin board to
showcase projects and for communication between the other student organizations. Someone from
DSAB will be attending all organization meetings to build the collaboration.
o College of Engineering and Computer Science Senator- Michelle Callaham
 Meet with Dean of the College of Engineering and we are working on a strategic plan. They are making
a Business Center for Engineering: on the spot interviews for internships, co-ops, part time, full time
jobs. I finished filling positions for committees. I am planning a meeting for all of the Engineering Club
Presidents. A student approached me about a petition to have a card swipe process to organize printing
in Russ.
o College of Liberal Arts Senator- Phillip Logan
 I met with Dean and I am continuing to work on the Graduate School Seminar. I am looking into
preparatory courses that WSU offers for Admission Tests. Regarding the National Science Foundation
Grant (provides research to science fields), we are looking to see if we can get smaller grants during
this one year extension period. I also received some complaints regarding required classes/graduation
that I will be addressing. I am working on the Fellowship for the Political Science Association.
o College of Nursing and Health Senator- Elizabeth Matthews
 Saturday, WSU will be hosting an event at the Schuster Center to recognize great nurses! There is a
scholarship opportunity associated with this that is open to students. Monday, I will be meeting with
the Dean to discuss my goals, and her visions. Our first DSAB meeting is Tuesday September 24th and
we are hoping to finish the application then.
o College of Science and Mathematics Senator- Matthew Johnson
 Community Blood Center- Sg is sponsoring a Blood Drive on April 21st, 2014 in Student Union Atrium
from 11-3 PM. WSU code is 1395. Our Dean Circle meets Wednesday at 7:30 AM. COSM and Pre-Health
are launching new websites where students will be showcased. I emailed all of presidents of COSM
student organizations.
o Commuter Senator- Megan Gray
 I am working with Simone Polk to plan the Off-Campus Housing Fair. My main goal is to get more
apartments involved in this. I will be working with Fady on Zip Car and on the translation of housing
contracts.
o Raj Soin College of Business Senator- Meridith Brackman









Rachel and I met with the Dean about our Welcome Event. I had a DSAB meeting with the president,
Kelsey and we discussed getting more students on the board. We will be doing the Fashion Show
again this year. I was in contact with Fady regarding a presentation to International Students about
our Business programs. I am looking into card swipes for Rike, and will be continuing work with the
resolution.
o Residential Senator- Sienna Spears
 I made a RA contact sheet and will be meeting with the RCA E-Board next week. I met with Dan Bertos
who would like input on the new Commons Building (what should go inside?) I also will be getting
input on Chartwells.
o School of Professional Psychology Senator- Andrea Sackett
 Today was Suicide Prevention Day! I am working with the new incoming class and introducing my
position to the students. I have been working with the Tunnel of Oppression and will have 2 rooms
within it.
