FESTIVITIES
Fair of Córdoba

The fair of Córdoba, is a
very important event in the
city, given the number of
people who gather there to
dance, sing and have fun. It
takes place at the end of the
month and is similar to the
better known fair of Seville,
but there are some
differences, the main one is
that the one in Seville is
private and in Córdoba it is
public.
The courtyards

The Patios Festival is held
during the second and third
weeks of May. Many houses
in the historic center open
their private patios to the
public and compete in a
contest. Both architectural
and floral decorations are
taken into account to choose
the winners. It is usually very
difficult and expensive to
find accommodation in the
city during the festival.
The crosses

The May Crosses Festival
takes place at the beginning
of the month. For three or
four days, crosses of around
3m in height are placed in
many squares and streets,
decorated with flowers and a
contest is held to choose the
most beautiful one. There is
usually regional food and
music near the crosses.
