Entering and Exiting Routine
Entering the classroom
• Place bag in cubby
• Place important papers
(homework, notes, Tuesday
folder in assigned bin
• Sit and follow morning
warm-up activity given by
teacher
Exiting the classroom
• Tidy up desk and space
around it
• When your table group is
called, push in your chair
and collect backpack and
important papers out of
your assigned paper slot
• Wait assigned bus group in
classroom until bus number
is called
• Patrols will walk students to
the correct bus or pick-up
location daily
Classroom Policies
Tuesday Folder:
– Sent home Tuesday, return signed on Wednesday
Homework:
– The first day of each month, a packet attached
with a calendar will be sent home
– Follow the daily assignment
– Return completed packet when the calendar is
over
Grading Policies
• Popsicle stick behavior system
– Green, yellow and red
• Green: Good job today!
• Yellow: Sit out 5 minutes at recess
• Red: Sit out 10 minutes at recess and note or phone call
home
• Children with an all GREEN week will receive a
treat (Sticker, eraser, pencil, etc.)
• Every two weeks, a classroom behavior update
will be sent home in the Tuesday folder
*TIP: Encourage a behavior chart or system at home if needed,
consistency is key when it comes to classroom and household
behaviors*

Important Reminders
• COLVIN RUN IS A PEANUT FREE SCHOOL!
• Send child with a snack Monday-Friday
– (Healthy, please!)
• Birthday treats are welcome!
– Please notify me at least 24 hours ahead of time to allow
schedule adjustment
– TREATS NEED TO BE PEANUT FREE
• Show and tell for A-M last names is every 1st and 3rd
Wednesday of each month
• Show-and-tell for N-Z last names is every 2nd and 4th
Wednesday every month
– We ask that you encourage your child to leave their toys at
home and save them until it’s their day to share. Although it’s
not our first choice, if necessary, a child is allowed to bring ONE
toy from home to play with during FREE TIME only.
