Attendance and participation in ECON 1002 earns a passing grade of “S”. ECON 1002 is a supplement course for ECON 1120. ECON 1002 is open to all students taking ECON 1120. ECON 1002 provides additional opportunities to discuss and learn the concepts presented in the lectures of ECON 1120. Econ 1002 is designed to be taken as an additional class by any students who want or need extra help to thrive in introductory macroeconomics (ECON 1120). The supplemental course is in addition to lectures and section meetings in Econ 1120. We will work on those concepts that regularly seem to trip up students. We will discuss examples, and students will work through problems together. Think of this course as the opportunity to develop skills that you can carry to your introductory macroeconomics course. We spend most of our time completing practice problems as individuals and in small groups during the meeting. There is one meeting for Econ 1002 each week. Monday 7:00-8:15 PM in RCK 127 We also offer office hours, review session, and open tutoring sessions to help students with their individual questions about the concepts covered on your homework assignments and exams in your Econ 1120 course. The coverage of topics in ECON 1002 follows the course outline for your ECON 1120 course. Students are welcome to attend ECON 1002, attend review sessions, and attend open tutoring sessions on a casual basis. A student is NOT required to enroll in ECON 1002 to use the services and materials in ECON 1002. However, many students register for credit because they know this will nag them into attending regularly! Second, the office hours are intended for enrolled students, and enrolled students have priority on time, services, space, and materials in ECON 1002. The schedule for office hours and open tutoring sessions will be announced on September 5. ECON 1002 is supported by the Learning Strategies Center (LSC) located in 420 CCC.
