Steps for Theme and Plot Analysis
Directions
 You will be required to respond to 7 question prompts that
deal with analyzing Plot, conflict, character development
and theme.
• You should number each item.
• It is very important that you respond to the entire question
prompt for each number. You cannot get full credit unless
every item is addressed. If the question requires you to
give information from the story to support your answer,
make sure you give information from the story.
Directions continued
You are permitted to use notes provided in the beginning of
the year to help you with terminology used in the questions.
You may also use any resource to help you define terms. For
example, if you are not sure what a dynamic character is, it is
ok to look it up.
It is strongly recommended that you gather your thoughts
and complete a sloppy copy. You are required to type the final
paper.
