Profile summary
I am Noor Azlan Ahmad and I am a freelance English-Malay translator. I passed the examination with distinction
for formal general translation conducted by the Malaysian Institute of Translation & Books (ITBM) in April 2014. I
had also attended 4-day Intensive workshop in editing at the same institute. Prior to this I had significant but
informal translation works during my studies and employment. Those were done as to communicate to the most
understandable version of documents, emails, HR policy, standard operating procedures, assignment, write-ups,
collective agreements and etc. to the targeted readers.
Malay has become my mother-tongue and I am also proficient in English, since I have been polished and trained
in these two languages. I am a Malaysian nationality and used to study in the United Kingdom. I had my first
degree in Accounting and Finance from the Manchester Metropolitan University, UK in 1997. Later after more
than a decade of experience particularly in Human Resources across a couple of industries, I pursued my Masters
of Business Administration (MBA) specializing in Strategic Management at the International Islamic University of
Malaysia (IIUM) and graduated in 2011. I am having more than 15 years of experience with different
organizations such as banking in CIMB and Bank Islam (M) Bhd, non-profit in the World Health Organization
(WHO) and government-linked in Sime Darby Berhad. During these phases, I have significantly gathered much
experience, giving me a strong insight of various areas of different industry. I had also completed the first level
Professional Membership in Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) in 2012 and later was awarded
an Associate Membership (Assoc CIPD) in 2014.
As I move on, I am right now pursuing my passion towards translation. With my vast experience working with
different people in different countries and culture, I see myself in great advantage to contribute into this industry
as a full time freelance translator
