APEC Secretariat Internship Framework (Communications and Public Affairs) JOB DESCRIPTION Requirements: To be eligible, candidates must possess an undergraduate degree and may be enrolled, or planning to enroll, in a full-time graduate study program. Open to students who are nationals or permanent residents of APEC member economies. Strong written and spoken English skills. Excellent writing, communication and project management skills. Computing skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Preferred knowledge of video production, photography and design software. Candidates should have a strong interest in the work of international organisations, APEC’s work and possess a good working knowledge of international relations and international economics. Preferred degrees in international relations, economics, and/or communications. Tasks: The intern will support the APEC Secretariat’s communications and public affairs programs. Tasks may include the following: Compiling news media articles Supporting posting of content and administration of APEC social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Weibo. Tailoring APEC content such as news releases, publications, and articles for posting on social media. Helping to execute social media campaigns and development of apps. Researching and writing website content, news releases, articles and other editorial content. Creating and compiling video content, script and footage and coordinating with vendors. Photographic coverage of events in Singapore and at the APEC Secretariat. Creating PowerPoint presentations and graphics. Providing support for events and media interviews. Media database management. Posting and uploading website content. Initiating and managing above projects and ensure deadlines are met. Performing other related duties, as required by D/CPAU.
