Graduation Requirements C/O 2015-2017 In order to graduate from the State of Ohio students must Complete the following: 1. Pass all 5 OGT tests 2. Take the American History and American Government state developed end of course exam starting in Spring of 2015 ◦ Under the provisions of S.B. 165, the state superintendent of public instruction and the chancellor of the Ohio board of regents are to select end-of-course examinations in American history and American government. The selection is to be made not later than July 1, 2014. The state-selected examinations are scheduled to become operational in the spring of 2015. The test is two parts… • First a Performance Based Assessment PBA is administered after 75% of instructional time is complete, focus, format and content varies with each course • Second the End of Course EOC is administered after 90% of instructional time is complete, focus, format and content varies with each course • The final score is based on a combination of the PBA and EOC Test American History & American Government PBA EOC Administration Time Session 1 Session 1 Session Time 60 60 Additional Time Allowed 30 30 Total Test Administration Time 90 90 When will you take these tests? • You will take the test during the last semester of the course for American History and American Government, staring in the spring of 2015 • Students who are taking an AP exam for either American History and/or American Government are exempted from these end of course exam Testing Time Frames the American History and American Government EOC (AIR developed tests) Spring * See your teacher for the specific schedule March 30th-April 10th PBA May 11th – 22nd EOC What do you need to bring on testing days? • Number 2 pencil •All cell phones should be left in your locker How should you prepare for these tests? • Your teachers will be going over the format of each individual test, and will go through practice tests • The content is based on the common core which is the curriculum your teachers are using in the classroom Questions? •Ask your teacher or contact Mrs. Buhrlage (Assistant Principal) at buhrlabr@lovelandschools.org
