ESSENTIAL QUESTION: How can we put an end to genocide?
Essential Transfer Goal: Students will use the English language to understand and describe interdependence among
people and nations.
ELD Standard 5: The language of Social Studies: English language learners communicate information, ideas and
concepts necessary for academic success in the content area of Social Studies.
ES.SS.7.H.2.1 Analyze the effects of social, economic, military and political conflict among nations, regions, and groups
(e.g. war, genocide, imperialism and colonization).
CONTENT OBJECTIVE: We will evaluate the Holocaust.
LANGUAGE OBJECTIVE: We will paraphrase what we learned from a video on a historical topic.
1. Go to Google drive. You will create a new document titled ESL JOURNAL _(YOUR NAME)__ 2ND QUARTER and share it
with me.
2. JOURNAL:

3. Continue watching the videos using Closed Captions.
4. Write down 5 IMPORTANT facts of each video using Cornell Notes.
5. In your teams, you will write a summary for each video.
6. I will assign you a new partner.
7. You will tell your new partner the information you learned using your Cornell Notes.
8. Pay attention to your partner.
9. You will tell me what you learned from your partner.
