General Information All students will still earn high school credit with a passing grade. Students may also opt to take the course for early entry credit: Enroll to earn college credit through NDSCS Grades recorded on the high school transcript also go on the college transcript Students are responsible for paying tuition to NDSCS (approximately 1/3 the regular tuition) Tuition assistance available for students with free/reduced lunch Should students enroll in early entry credit? Each student situation is different Students are encouraged to evaluate the following: Study habits Outside commitments Future plans Scholarship eligibility Advantages/Disadvantages Advantages and Disadvantages of Early Entry Credit Advantages Disadvantages Lower tuition Financial aid is usually not Saves time by allowing available Starts your official college transcript May not transfer at “face value” to the college you choose to attend (out of state, private schools, etc.) students to get a jump start on college credit Fulfills a category for the ND Academic Scholarship Lists may not be all inclusive. Are there other ways to earn college credit? YES! AP exam – taken in May each year CLEP exam – taken at the college level Note of Caution: Exams require certain scores & not all schools accept the scores for credit. Registration Information Complete registration packets provided today Return completed forms to next year’s teacher, unless applying for tuition assistance by May 5. NDSCS Application for Admission (online) Credit Registration Form FERPA Release Form Bank of ND Dual Credit Assistance Form (if applicable) Keep important dates and deadlines in mind.
