Overview
 Define early entry credit

Early Entry Credit
 Earning high school and college credit at the same
time for enrollment in a single course.
General Information
 All students will still earn high school credit with a passing
grade.
 Students may also opt to take the course for early entry credit:
 Enroll to earn college credit through NDSCS
 Grades recorded on the high school transcript also go on the
college transcript
 Students are responsible for paying tuition to NDSCS
(approximately 1/3 the regular tuition)
 Tuition assistance available for students with
free/reduced lunch
Should students enroll in early entry credit?
 Each student situation is different

 Outside commitments
 Future plans

Are there other ways to earn
college credit?
 YES!
 AP exam – taken in May each year
 CLEP exam – taken at the college level
 Note of Caution: Exams require certain scores & not all
schools accept the scores for credit.
Registration Information
 Complete registration packets provided today
 Return completed forms to next year’s teacher, unless
applying for tuition assistance by May 5.
 NDSCS Application for Admission (online)
 Credit Registration Form
 FERPA Release Form
 Bank of ND Dual Credit Assistance Form (if applicable)
 Keep important dates and deadlines in mind.
 Work with NDSCS regarding billing questions.
