The Paris Declaration is a cross-sector initiative founded by R20 and World
Climate Ltd. It is a declaration from states, regions, cities, businesses and
financiers to support an international climate deal during the UN COP21 in 2015.
At the World Summit of Regions for Climate (WSRC) in Paris 2014, Arnold
Schwarzenegger, the Founder of R20, invited a coalition of states, regions, cities,
investors and businesses to sign the Declaration, which will travel to events such
as the World Climate Summit 2014 in Lima, World Green Economy Summit 2015
in Dubai, World Climate Summit 2015 in Paris, among others.
At COP 21 in Paris 2015, Arnold Schwarzenegger will hand over The Paris
Declaration to the UNFCCC and COP Presidency. The Paris Declaration will be
handed over as a tangible representation of the largest, most influential, multistakeholder platform supporting an international climate deal at COP21.
The Paris Declaration has been developed through engaging key partners and
stakeholders, who also make up the core signatories of this document. Through
the momentum gained through their endorsement, the Paris Declaration will
continue to collect signatures during the numerous international events along the
Road to Paris.
7. The Road to Paris 2015
The Road to Paris 2015 is a bottom-up, multi-stakeholder platform, from
business, finance, states, regions and cities that will support the signing of a
binding global climate change agreement at COP21 in Paris. The initiative is in
partnership with, amongst others, R20 - Regions of Climate Action, and has been
launched at the World Climate Summit 2013 during COP19 in Warsaw.

The Road to Paris campaign will promote globally the initiatives and messages of
our partners, including the Paris Declaration.
