Manager, Talent Development Location: US-IL, Chicago Division: US Travel 30% Percentage: Job Code: 4013 Description Position Summary The Manager, Talent Development of LafargeHolcim will work as a business partner with key HR and operational stakeholders to develop and execute a comprehensive learning and development strategy in support of the business. They will have responsibility for developing the strategic vision for the learning and development function. This includes Leadership Development, Talent Management, and Succession Planning, Learning and Skills Development, Performance Management and Career Planning. The individual is expected to work closely with the HR leadership team to define and implement a learning and development culture at LafargeHolcim that provides a competitive advantage for the company and positions them to have the talent and bench strength to grow and capture market share. Key Responsibilities Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environment and areas. Establishes and champions the processes for identifying and managing the development of targeted employee population to include: high potentials, people to watch, and diversity. Liaisons with external sources to identify best-in-class practices and systems for talent development and facilitates their implementation in-house. Influences key HR and operational staff to ensure learning and development is fully integrated in the business cycle. Ensures the organization establishes annual talent development targets and facilitates regular progress review with key stakeholder to achieve those targets. Develops and manages learning & talent development budget(s). Partners with the LafargeHolcim Group learning and development staff and counterparts to support Group-sponsored talent development initiatives in the operations. Leads the development and implementation of the annual training plan. Supports HR staff with the learning and development activities for the targeted employees as required. Supports the Director Talent Management, with developing required action plans in support of the human capital issues identified from the O&HR process. Supports Director Talent Management, HR and key business leaders with a systematic progress reviews process for the human capital action plans. Develops and manages organization-wide learning and development KPI’s. Results/Accountabilities Develop strong and meaningful relationships with key business leaders and the executive team. Create a learning and development culture within LafargeHolcim that is modeled by the executive leadership team and implemented throughout the organization by business leaders. Develop strong relationships with his/her peers within the company. Execute a learning and development plan to enable the assessment and identification of top talent throughout the company and the growth and mobility of this talent through experience based development opportunities and structured learning Develop the organizational capability to the extent that he/she is no longer required to participate in day-to-day execution. Develop and execute a learning and development strategy and make modifications to said strategy as required. Be in a position to take on additional responsibility within the company. Qualification Profile Education and Work Experience: 5-8 years of HR experience in a global corporation and/or consulting firm with a background in Learning & Development, Talent Management, Leadership Development, Workforce Planning, Organization Development, and/or HR Business Partner. A Bachelor’s degree required in a business or HR discipline preferred. Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated skill at managing the design, development and delivery of talent development and leadership development solutions. Excellent facilitation and instructor skills Strong results orientation. Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal mediums. Ability to consult effectively with leaders at every level. A high level of persistence and efficacy in uncovering and solving problems within organization systems. Ability to develop effective cross-departmental relationships and deliver solutions with a global point of view. Ability to identify and execute innovative solutions and learn/adapt from implementations. Keep a ‘business-need point of view’ front and center in all work products. A healthy “dissatisfaction with the status quo” and a willingness to take calculated risks. An inspired leader and team builder who is able to support the vision and lead the charge. A sense of urgency and the ability to communicate it to the team. Impeccably honest and ethical.
