Invite them to sing a song about the days of the week. Song: LUNES, MARTES, MIERCOLES, JUEVES, VIERNES, SABADO, DOMINGO TAMBIEN, LA SEMANA, LA SEMANA (3) (Tune of the Adam’s family) Show them a video about the days of the week and encourage them to sing afterwards. Show flashcards to introduce the feelings topic. Ask them to see the pictures and guess how the people in the flashcards feel. Tell them you are going to read the book: MAŇANA IGUANA by …. Show the cover and ask them how they think Iguana feels. Invite them to predict what the story is about. While reading, ask students about the Iguana’s faces and motivate them to infer what is going to happen in the story. MATERIALS: Book: ”Mañana Iguana” 3)GUIDED PRACTICE TIME: 8 MINUTES Review colors, fruits, and days of the week by using Pepa software. While Pepa mentions the fruits ask students to say ME GUSTA/ NO ME GUSTA (I like it or I don’t like it.) Sing the song “Tengo hambre…yo quiero comer, Tengo sed…yo quiero beber” from Language stars CD. Play FOUR CORNERS using the vocabulary about food items Day 2: Have and interview with Panamanian students via skype and use the structures learned in Spanish class, such as Me llamo, greetings, mucho gusto, Me gusta, no me gusta. Play colors game at hello-world.com and Pepa software days of the week. Play charades with feelings: One student foes to the front, flip a flashcard and act out the feeling, a volunteer raises his hand and if he guesses, he is the next student to flip a card. Sing the song “SI ESTAS FELIZ” from Language Stars CD. MATERIALS: Flashcards, CD Language Stars: Song “Tengo hambre”, “Si estas feliz”, Kidspeak Spanish software. 4)INDEPENDENT PRACTICE TIME 10 MINS DAY 1: Play Four corner: Listen and run to the food item the teacher mentions. Day 2: Group 1: Finish coloring their book using MORADO Y VERDE Group 2: Goes to the promethean to practice colors. Group 3: Stay with Mrs. Bravo for a listening test Group 4: If time allows, this group works in the classroom computers with the days of the week (software Kidspeak Spanish.) 5) EVALUATION Formative: food items Summative: Listening test about colors. (Students listen and glue the color of construction paper Mrs. Bravo mentions. CLOSURE: Sing the song: Adios mis amigos.
