POSITION DESCRIPTION Title: Position Number: Classification: Division: Branch: Reports to: Term: Telvent Project Manager Asset Management Division OSR Program Manager 3 Years POSITION OVERVIEW The Telvent Project Manager has the operational responsibility for the successful delivery of the Telvent project component of ActewAGL Distribution’s Operational Systems Replacement (OSR) program. The OSR program is a significant company initiative to replace a number of its key Operational Technology (OT) solutions. The OSR program consists of four key projects: ESRI GIS Upgrade, ArcFM implementation and Designer implementation; Telvent OMS/DMS/OaSys SCADA solution implementation; Telvent Connectivity & DMS Catalogue Data Capture; Cityworks/RIVA Works & Asset Management solution implementation. The role will manage the project schedule, project budget, project scope and implementation plan deliverables for the Telvent project. The Telvent Project Manager will have functional responsibility for the implementation of the technical streams within the project: Telvent Responder Outage Management System (OMS) stream; Telvent Distribution Management System (DMS) stream; Telvent SCADA (OaSys) stream. The Telvent Project Manager will play a significant role in ensuring effective collaboration between the organisational and technological components in developing the solution, including defining and communicating accountabilities for all project streams. The Telvent project technical streams will be lead by specialist Technical Lead personnel from within the organisation. The Telvent Project manager will be responsible for managing the output of these resources in order to meet the required project outcomes. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Working within the OSR Program environment develop the detailed Telvent project plan. This includes project scope, deliverables and clear accountabilities for the teams and external service providers; Ensure Telvent project activities and deliverables are documented and managed to ensure maximum utilisation of resources within the available program funding; Manage the Telvent project plan on a day-to-day basis and delegate activities or tasks to appropriate teams; Identify and manage Telvent project risks, dependencies, resources, finances and issues with technical stream leaders and the Program Manager to deliver the project objectives within the defined framework; Timely and accurate Telvent project reporting to key stakeholders. Reports will include visibility of the project status, dependencies, issues/risks and items requiring action in line with the corporate project reporting framework; Ensure that appropriately skilled resources, both internal and external, are allocated to streams within the project; Co-ordinate the technical streams to ensure project objectives, timelines and deliverables are managed; Ensure effective and efficient tracking of project related expenditure exists and followed for budgets, actuals, forecasts and accruals, with frequent reporting to key stakeholders; Identify and together with the program management team determine how to leverage opportunities with other projects within ActewAGL. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE Demonstrable Distribution Management System and SCADA skills & experience in an operational electrical utility environment. Skills in the use & operation of the Telvent solution suite will be highly regarded. Relevant tertiary or post graduate engineering qualification preferably in a network operational environment, or extensive utility industry experience; Relevant project management qualification and experience preferably PRINCE2. Proven ability to effectively lead and manage a highly technical operational technology solution implementation; Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including well-developed negotiation and presentation skills, including advanced report writing skills; Ability to liaise with internal and external business professionals and to manage key stakeholder expectations; Significant operational Asset Management and/or utilities industry experience and knowledge. Experience with business process re-engineering and process design experience is highly desirable; Demonstrated commitment to health, safety and the environment, including a willingness to apply ActewAGL’s HS&E policies and procedures in the work place.
