Packet Tracer CLI Part 2
1. Type in the reload command after R1#
2. Then hit enter to proceed
3. Now it is reloading the router and decompressing the image
4. Now if you hit enter you are essentially logged into the router
5. Type enable to get us into privileged mode
6. Type confi then tab completion
7. Type ter then tab completion
8. Hit enter for global configuration
9. Type line console 0 then hit enter
10. Now the prompt is in (config-line)
11. Type password cisco, then hit enter, that will make the password = to cisco
12. Type ? to see our commands such as login
13. Type login then hit enter so now it is configured
14. Type exit to take us back to global configuration
15. Type exit again to take us to privileged mode
16. Now to save, type in copy run start
17. Hit enter twice
18. Type in reload to reload the router
19. Now it should ask for a password before placing us into user exec mode
20. Type in cisco for the password and now we are in the user exec prompt
21. To configure the vty line for the cisco router first type enable
22. Type configure terminal
23. Type line vty 0 4 and hit enter
24. Type password cisco. You must have a password on the vty line
25. Type login then hit enter. Now the vty is set up
26. Hit control+C and hit enter
27. Type copy run and hit tab
28. Type sta and hit tab
29. Hit enter twice
30. Type show run
31. Hit the space bar to move through the vty file
32. Close out and grab another pc
33. Go to connections
34. Grab a cross over cable
35. Connect one end into the Ethernet port of the pc
36. Connect the other end into the Ethernet port of the router
37. Click on the pc, go to desktop, then ip configuration
38. Type 192.168.1.100 for the ip address, click the subnet mask, then type
192.168.1.1 for the default gateway
39. Click on the terminal and type configure terminal
40. Type interface fastEthernet 0/0 then hit enter
41. Type ip address 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0 then hit enter
42. Type in no shutdown and that should change the interface
43. Hit control+C
