Introduction to Advanced Placement World History and
Economics

in high school I was on the softball, basketball, and ski teams. (I went to high
school in Anchorage, AK, and Peachtree City, GA)
 After high school plans: College – West Georgia, marketing degree, worked for
Delta Airlines, went back to West Georgia and got a teaching certification, began
teaching at Hiram High School (1 year), Lithia Springs High School (10 years), New
Manchester High School (2 years)
 Career goals: I want to be the best teacher I can be. I want my students to succeed
and become responsible, respectful members of society

 After high school plans: Partial baseball scholarship to Ga Southwestern (didn’t
work out). I put myself through college working a full-time job (it did take 8 years).
I started out teaching elementary PE & coaching basketball (9 years). Received my
Masters degree in Leadership in 2007 and began teaching at Alexander High
School coaching baseball & football. When New Manchester opened I came over. I
coached baseball & football. I gave up coaching to become a prop dad & spend
time with my kids.
 Career goals : This is my 17th year teaching. I want to make it 13 more years. I hope
to pay it forward & have a positive impact on students.

 Tutoring will be held afterschool on Monday and Wednesday beginning in
October, prior to that just ask… (My daughter plays softball at DCHS, and my
tutoring schedule will be based on her game schedule).

 When you come in this room the expectation is that your cell phones will be turned
off and put in your book bag.
 When you come to class, you will get your materials for class out of your book bag
and then the book bag will be placed in the back of the room.
 Materials you will need include: notebook, paper, pen/pencil
 If I/we see a cell phone, even for a split second, it will be taken up and taken to the
office where a parent/guardian will be required to pick it up.
 If you have a special circumstance talk to me before class about it. (My mom is checking
me out, is NOT a special circumstance – the office will call for you when Mom gets here)
