Use your textbook, the internet or a dictionary to provide definitions for the

2. On a separate piece of paper, answer the following questions using COMPLETE
SENTENCES;
a. If two identical rocks were weathered – one mechanically and the other
chemically- how would the products of weathering for the two rocks differ?

b. Describe the formation of an exfoliation dome. Give an example of such a
feature. (2 marks for quality of response and inclusion of details)
c.
Granite and Basalt are exposed at the surface in a hot, wet region. Which type
of weathering (mechanical or chemical) will predominate? (2 marks for quality of
response and inclusion of details)
3. Draw a diagram to demonstrate the process of frost wedging. See fig.
4.4 on p. 86 to assist you. Do NOT copy the diagram – create your own.
You will be marked out of 10 for your ability to create an accurate diagram
of frost wedging.
