The guided tours will be supplemented by panel discussions and lectures by renowned experts and religious representatives. Faculty of Biology: University Garden Festival A garden festival for all citizens of Freiburg entitled „From Climbing Plants to Genetic Medicinal Plants” will take place in summer 2007. The event will include guided tours through the Botanical Gardens, which serve as an “interface between university and public,” as well as presentations of the greenhouses, the zoological collection, and much more. The event will be supplemented by culinary delights, exotic cocktails, and musical attractions. Examples from the Core Program Faculty of Chemistry, Pharmacy, and Earth Sciences: Fire and Flame, Sound and Smoke After dark at the Science Fair, chemistry professors will perform and explain spectacular visual experiments. The event carries on the age-old tradition of chemistry shows as public attractions at fairs and at the circus.
