Welcome to the Parent Forum What do parents want from the Parent Forum? Parents to get into groups and discuss with a lead person reporting views from each group. Why we would like a Parent Forum? • To understand the views of the parents as a group • For parents to understand the work of the Academy better • To work together to improve what we do by discussing important areas with parents • To communicate with parents clearly and more effectively • To give our parents the chance to suggest what we might do better and be part of school decision making Rules of the group • Only parent/carers of children currently at Manchester Health Academy will be members • Any parent/carer is able to join the group or attend any meeting throughout the year • Individual issues regarding staff, pupil, parents will not be discussed at the meetings • No staff, student or parent names will be used at the meetings • No complaints regarding individual issues can be raised at the meetings • Meetings will take place 6 times per year with additional meetings arranged as and when required • Meetings are to be informal and provide opportunities for open discussion • The chairperson is responsible for making sure that each meeting is led effectively • Please arrive on time to the meeting, listen to others and avoid any conflict Reports What does the data mean? All students are targeted to make 4 levels of progress (4LOP). For example, a learner who arrives with 4b is targeted to achieve a grade B+ at GCSE.
