Welcome to the
Parent Forum
What do parents want from the
Parent Forum?
Parents to get into groups and discuss with
a lead person reporting views from each
group.
Why we would like a Parent Forum?
•
To understand the views of the parents as a group
•
For parents to understand the work of the Academy better
•
To work together to improve what we do by discussing important areas with
parents
•
To communicate with parents clearly and more effectively
•
To give our parents the chance to suggest what we might do better and be
part of school decision making
Rules of the group
•
Only parent/carers of children currently at Manchester Health Academy will be members
•
Any parent/carer is able to join the group or attend any meeting throughout the year
•
Individual issues regarding staff, pupil, parents will not be discussed at the meetings
•
No staff, student or parent names will be used at the meetings
•
No complaints regarding individual issues can be raised at the meetings
•
Meetings will take place 6 times per year with additional meetings arranged as and when required
•
Meetings are to be informal and provide opportunities for open discussion
•
The chairperson is responsible for making sure that each meeting is led effectively
•
Please arrive on time to the meeting, listen to others and avoid any conflict

Targets & Reporting
Target setting is used to improve rates of
progress and raise standards of achievement.
All students are targeted to make 4 levels of
progress (4LOP). For example, a learner who
arrives with 4b is targeted to achieve a grade B+
at GCSE.
