Acquire the Fire gathering.
Acquire the Fire (ATF) is a
Christian gathering geared to catch
the attendees on Fire for the Lord
Jesus Christ. This year’s theme
was “RESILIENT”.
We arrived at Austin’s North
Shore Church a little after 7 pm.
Upon entering the sanctuary, what
we noticed first was the sweet
presence of the Spirit of God
which was enveloping the room.
The presence of God appeals to
every one of our senses: sound,
sight, smell, taste & touch. It is
easy to want more and more of his
presence. It is precious.
Worshipping the Lord was an
experience that we only had to
yield to. It wet our appetites for
more to come.
There was a skit which investigated the These young men were resilient in

My Soul.
The Grand Finale was when the
founder, Ron Luce, gave his
presentation. He started by showing
the 2008 Big 10 600 Meter race of
Heather Dorniden’s inspirational race.
The point Luce made is that long
before this race occurred, Heather had
decided she was going to finish.
Heather fell in this race, and
immediately got up and not only ran to
the finish, but came in first. To make
this even more inspirational, Heather is
a born again Christian who is resilient
in her faith. She bounced back from
impossibility.
Next, Luce shared the story of
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego
from Daniel Chapter 3, highlighting
verses 17 -18: (Paraphrased) God CAN
deliver us, but even if he chooses not
to, we will not bow down to your
image.
Saturday started with worship and
soon they brought Doug Cherry on
stage. Doug has been to our
church in Medina twice. One of
his fortes is his heart for Godly
families. He teaches parents to be
intentional about living for God,
and raising up Godly households.

In the depth of sorrow over the loss
of his children, he wrote of the Peace
beyond all human understanding.
His resilience of steadfastness
resounded despite unapproachable
loss.
Chastity Luce performed with the
acoustic guitar, It Is Well With My
Soul, during which time, without
prompting, young people flocked to
the alter with hands upraised,
dedicating their resolve to be
