General Information
Course Description/Overview
Second semester chemistry consists of study of interactions of molecules including bonding, reactions and solubility.
Course Objectives
At the end of the course students will be able to describe and give examples of bonding and reactions between atoms
and molecules. Students will be able to identify and evaluate different substance for solubility and pH.
Course Components
Each unit has a quiz. There is a benchmark at the end of the course.
Course Duration and Hours
Approximately 40 school days, assuming 2 hours of work per day.
Grading Policy
Assignments 80%, Quizzes 20%
Policy for Academic Integrity
1. ACADEMIC DISHONESTY- Students found to have engaged in academic dishonesty shall be
subject to grade penalties on assignments or tests and disciplinary penalties in accordance with the
Student Code of Conduct. Academic dishonesty includes cheating or copying the work of
another student, plagiarism, and unauthorized communication between students during an
examination or outside of class with students who have not yet tested or turned in work. The
determination that a student has engaged in academic dishonesty shall be based on the
judgment of the classroom teacher or another supervising professional employee, taking into
consideration written materials, observations, or information from students. Academic
dishonesty will not be tolerated and will result in a zero on the assignment without the option for
make-up and may include the following depending on the circumstances: parent/teacher
conference and or referral to an AP.
