BIM 102 Document Formatting
1-4 Credits
This course gives primary emphasis to the formatting of business documents using
Microsoft Word 2012.
The student is eligible to receive college credit for this course according to the provisions of the
articulated Programs of Study Agreement between the high school and college.

COURSE COMPETENCIES
BIM 102 – Document Formatting
1-4 credits
The student will be able to create, edit, and format the following in a mailable format with a minimum 85% competency:
 E-mail messages
 Business and academic reports
 Business letters and memos
 Envelopes and labels
 Tables
 Resumes, letters of application, and related employment documents
At the completion module competencies a student can earn 1 credit for each module.
Module 1 = 1 credit: Word Processing and E-mail and
Business Correspondence
Upon successfully completing the module, the student
will create, edit, and format the following with a
minimum 85 percent accuracy and no mailable errors:
e-mails, block-style business letters, envelopes, mailing
labels, and memos (see competencies listed).

comma usage, sentence structure, and spelling
2. Correctly use basic Word features and functions

