You are going to research a major American poet. Below are the recommended poets.

You will create a slideshow presentation about your poet. There will be 6 parts to your project.
1. Create a biography slide about your poet. Your biography should be a summary and in your own words!
2. Select 5 poems from your poet.
Do a close read and annotate EACH poem including:
a. Speaker
b. Theme
c. Setting
d. Figurative language
e. Sound devices
3. Choose 2 of the 5 poems and compare and contrast the items above on one slide.
4. Write an original poem modeled after one of the poems you analyzed.
5. Bibliography slide—this is where you will list (in proper format) the sources you used to create you
presentation.
6. Present your poet and his/her poems to the class.
All parts should be on separate slides. The slides need to be labeled and organized for a clear and
effective presentation.
