
Research Project: Each person will complete a research project on a topic of your choice from the chapter. You are not
limited to the concepts in the chapter, provided that it is related to sleep, consciousness, or psychoactive drugs;
additionally, you must tie in information from at least 3 concepts from previous chapters. Your project will include a brief
summary of your findings in a digital presentation format (PowerPoint, GoogleDocs, etc.) and an informational, public
service announcement-style poster no smaller than 11x17 in. You are promoting awareness of topics such as sleep
disorders or deprivation (to name a few) OR advocating against drug use by providing vital information. Remember that
your presentation and poster should be obviously geared toward teenagers, but each should look professional and
collegiate-level in quality. Note that this unit comes a few weeks before Red Ribbon Week, so this is a perfect time to
promote a drug-free existence and give information that will help your peers. Posters will be displayed in the hall. *If you
prefer to NOT do a poster, you can replace this with a research essay of five paragraphs in APA style (you can use the
template on my AP Psych main page). See Research Handout.
