Welcome to Your Favorite Math Class!!

Classroom Expectations:
As a serious math student you will be expected to come to class on time with a
PENCIL, your homework, notebook/binder, and a desire to learn 
1. Be on time

You must be in your seat and working at the time class begins.

Example, if class begins at 9:13, you must be in your seat with materials
out at 9:14 or you will be marked late and earn a level
2. Be Prepared

All materials must be brought to class everyday (pencil, planner,
notebook/binder, completed homework)
3. Follow Directions

Listen carefully to all given directions

Raise your hand to ask questions

Remain on task once you have begun your work
4. Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself

Be respectful of your peers and your teacher

Do not distract yourself and others
5. Use appropriate language

Keep your voice at an appropriate level

Do not use foul or disrespectful language at any time

Use Academic Language often

Unit 3: Ratios, Percents, and Proportions
Unit 4: Relations and Functions
Unit 5: Linear Algebra
Unit 6: Solving Systems of Linear Equations and Inequalities
Unit 7: Statistics
Unit 8: Polynomials
Unit 9: Factoring

Expect each unit to consist of homework, classwork and/or labs, and
assessments.
Classwork/Homework:
 Any work to be turned in must be done in pencil. Use an eraser!
 All work should be neat, legible, and organized. No exceptions . . . I will not
accept the work if it is illegible. You will be required to resubmit the
assignment assuming possible deductions.
 You must show work so that you and I can understand your answers. Again,
no exceptions unless otherwise stated.
 Homework will be calculated as 3 points each day for a 15 point grade at the
end of the week (see HW rubric).
Tutoring:
 Don’t wait until it is too late
 Available Daily 2:55 - 4:00 (regular) or 2:55 to 3:25 (for sports)
 If you sign up for tutoring attendance is mandatory
 Tutoring is a privilege to those who show effort (i.e. must have evidence of
notes and homework)

Midterm Exam will occur the week before Christmas break
Final Exam will occur at the end of the year and count as 20% of your
ENTIRE grade
