Propositions Saulean Nikko Sierra Carmona SAULEAN SIERRA AND NIKKO CARMONA PROPOSITION 4!! PARENTAL NOTIFICATION ABOUT ABORTION DISCRIPTION!! I think people should give a chance to teenagers to give birth to her baby. Parents should support their daughter after she decides to give birth to her baby. Today a pregnant minor (an unmarried girl under 18 years old) can get an abortion in California without telling her parents. Proposition 4!! YES A pregnant minor needs a support of a parent or guardian before and after she decides what to do about her pregnancy. Minors hiding an abortion from their parents may getting help for medical problems. These laws reduce teen pregnancies and sexually transmitted disease, without danger or harm to minors. Proposition 4!! No!! Law can’t force good communication in families and does not help minors in families poor communication. Proposition 4 puts our most vulnerable teenagers in harm’s way or force teens to go to court. Proposition 4 doesn’t protect teens in dangerous homes. Proposition 8!! BAN OF GAY MARRIAGE!! DISCRIPTION I think proposition 8 is wrong because all human have a freedom to choice who to marry. Other people say that proposition is wrong because marring another person with the same gender is a sin. The California Supreme Court also said that the State Constitution gives same-sex couples the right to marry. Proposition 8!! Yea!! Proposition 8 restore the definition of marriage approved by voters in 2000 and puts it in the State Constitution. California still has a “domestic partners” law that gives same- sex couples the same rights an benefits an married spouses. Proposition 8 doesn’t take away any rights or benefits of gay domestic partnerships. Proposition 8!! NO The Freedom to marry is fundamental to our society ,just like the freedom of religion and speech. Law should treat everyone equally. It should not be up the government to say who can can’t get married. Proposition 12!! Bonds for Veterans’ Home Loans DISCRIPTION California veterans can buy homes and farms with low-interest loans provided by the Cal-Vet program. The money for these loans is raised by selling state bonds. Monthly payments from veterans have covered all costs of the Cal-Vet program. Proposition 12!! Bonds for Veterans’ Home Loans The Veterans Bond Act will help California's veterans achieve the American dream of homeownership. Proposition 12 will enable more veterans to buy homes in California and help the economy at the same time. This gives veterans lowinterest loans to buy homes, which is a way to show our appreciation for their service and sacrifice. Proposition 12! Bonds for Veterans’ Home Loans NO!! Veterans who served in combat or in a combat zone should be given loans before other veterans since funds are limited. Proposition 12 would authorize the sale of another $900 million in bonds to provide low-interest home (and farm) loans to "veterans.“ Voters may wish to end the program or insist that it be limited to the most needy and deserving veterans-such as those injured in combat. Conclusion Voting to make laws shouldn’t be invented. People should have their own decision. That’s what freewill means, but they should make laws for bad thing. For example murders, robbery, etc. If you do bad thing and you didn’t get caught, God will take care of you. Resources • www.Yahoo.com 1. 2. 3.
