POSITION PURPOSE
The Sr. Marketing Analyst supports the Marketing department across all marketing channels, including, but not limited to
print/catalog mailings for customer acquisition, retention and reactivation. The analyst participates in planning, scheduling,
execution and analysis including system setup for contacts and promotions, segment and test analysis. This position is a
direct report to the Sr. VP, Marketing with a dotted line to the VP, eCommerce.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – Other Duties May Be Assigned












Lead the development of standard reporting for online and offline channels, maintaining consistency across channels
where appropriate and allowing for variation where appropriate.
Responsible for weekly and monthly response and marketing contribution reporting.
Leads the process to improve sales and order forecasting, making the process more efficient and the results more
accurate.
Provide regular periodic reports that measure the health of the business and assure database integrity.
Continuously improve insight into the business through reporting and analysis.
Train team members in analytical disciplines.
Identify opportunities to improve performance through segment and contact testing, promotions, modeling, and
other enhancement strategies.
Analyze and report on segment, list, and test performance to communicate results to the organization and share with
outside vendors in order to optimize performance. Focus on response, profitability, and lifetime value for future
planning and decision making.
Supports the team in the selection process for outside mailings.
Manage internal system setup of catalog efforts and promotions and cross-train team members.
Create documentation for schedules, processes, reports and other areas of responsibilities, to simplify coverage and
training support.
Create ad-hoc reports using SQL, Tableau and Excel.
SCOPE




Works under general supervision. Position requires the exercise of independent judgment.
Partners with eCommerce, database administrator, circulation, and cross-departmentally to accomplish goals.
Periodic presentations for Executive Team.
Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate findings to all levels and to translate results into future

Strong computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, database programs, and report writing.
Advanced Excel, SQL and Tableau skills are required.
Proficiency with Google Analytics required.
Understanding of P&L (Marketing contribution reporting).
Knowledge of direct marketing measurements including calculating cost of customer acquisition and life-time value.
Ability to adapt to a continuously changing working environment.
Ability to develop and implement more efficient ways of working.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE



Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Finance, Business, Statistics, or related discipline.
3+ years experience in a similar setting, direct marketing industry, database marketing experience required, catalog
industry experience preferred.
Knowledge of statistical modeling a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS


Standard office environment. Stress may occur with tight deadlines and long hours. Minimal travel may be
required.
Standard physical activity such as standing, walking, and basic motor skills to access computer files for information,
data entry or document creation. Sitting for extended periods.
