Choose the four you would most want to answer. On the day of the test make sure these questions are marked
on this question sheet. I will then randomly assign each person a question from those five. This essay will be
worth 50 points.
After you are assigned your questions, you will write a five paragraph essay in class. Make sure you begin with a
short introduction and by stating a thesis for your answer and end with a conclusion. Be sure to include three
main points and several examples to support your points. Try to even include direct quotes from the book to help
make your point. If you have time, you can ask for an additional essay question to be answered for extra credit
(up to 10 points). You will be able to use any notes, worksheets and the novel. You could even do some
prewriting/a graphic organizer for the topics you’re choosing. The suggested thesis statements are just that—
suggestions. You do not have to use them, but they might give you some ideas of how to get started. You won’t
be marked down for using them or not using them.
