Complete the grammar, vocabulary, notes up to line 209 of Book I of the Aeneid. Part II: 1. Read Books I, II, IV of Vergil’s Aeneid. 2. As you read, complete a summary of the sequence of events and characters in each book. You will need this reference later for discussion, analysis papers, and tests that cover specific chapters, so be sure to write the most important facts. The assignments/assessments portion of the grade will consist of vocabulary and translation quizzes, weekly lines assigned, book summaries, tests, and projects. Assessments will follow the format of the AP test, but on a smaller scale. Each assessment will contain multiple choice questions pertaining to the grammar, rhetoric, meter, and translation of a variety of prepared and sight passages; short essay questions about the language/rhetoric/style of a passage or a comparison of passages; and translation of prepare passages.
