Come out and support HCMS hornet soccer Wednesday, September, 19th at Bear Creek Help relieve overcrowding at our campus in the evenings. Please meet at Welcome All Park, Old National Plaza, or Big Lots in Union City to help relieve excessive traffic on our Buffington Road campus. Also, carpooling with your neighbors is a great way to earn volunteering hours. :) Complete uniform participation is mandatory at all Hapeville Charter Schools. Students will have to be in uniform in accordance to the guidelines sent home. There are uniforms available at each campus for those in need. Violators will face ISS and mandatory change of clothes. If you have not seen a printout of your student's grades, please check with them for this grade sheet. The Flowers for Algernon project is due this Thursday. We will continue reading the story, comparing and contrasting it to the movie, and in preparation for turning in the project, participate in a tutorial covering plagiarism and accurately citing references within a research project. Math Objectives for the week: 8th Grade Newsletter Page 2 Science Science This week in Physical This Week in Language Arts… We will continue with our parts of speech review with verbs-action, linking, transitive and intransitive. Additionally, we will work on writing conclusions. Last week, noun and adjective quizzes went home. If you did not see the quiz, please ask your child for it. Language Arts tutorial is Mondays 4-4:30. Georgia History We will be moving to a new unit entitled The Nature of Matter. After taking notes and discussing, students will be given a group project on this topic. Students should be studying nightly to ensure understanding. I will have tutorial on Thursday of this week from 3:55 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. This week in Physical Education CRCT Coach Book Order Forms are being sent home today!! Each student must purchase a workbook. The CRCT Coach workbooks cost $15 dollars each. The last day to order workbooks is: Friday, October 5th, 2012. This week in GA Studies we will be finishing Unit one! Our unit one test is Tuesday, September 18th, 2012. Each student was given a study guide last week! Students should also be working on their current event. The current event is due Thursday, September 27th, 2012.
